Susan Herman

“The real task is to learn how to hold your own and have your say, without pretending that you’re somebody else.”

Susan was the head of the American Civil Liberties Union for years, defending voter’s rights, child separation cases, reproductive rights, and LGBTQ rights.

Now, Susan holds a chair as the inaugural Ruth Bader Ginsburg Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School. Like Ginsburg, during her time at the ACLU Susan also served as General Counsel.
